The Global Gender Gap Report 2009
Out of the 115 countries covered in the report since 2006, more than two-thirds have posted gains in overall index scores, indicating that the world in general has made progress towards equality between men and women, although there are countries that continue to lose ground.
Guess which countries have not made “progress towards equality between men and women”?
Guess which countries are Islamic countries? Guess why these Islamic countries are not making any progress. Ok forget the guessing game … it’s Islam!
If you ask muslim women “vast majority” will tell you Islam has set them free. There is some truth to that if we were still living in the year 732AD. Muslim women that believe they have been set free are still living in the year 732AD and permanently relegated to the back of the bus by Islamic doctrine while the rest of the world has progressed. In order to get out of the back of the bus muslim women would have to challenge core Islamic itself, which they cannot bring themsleves to do. They have seen time and time again what happens to women that have done this in the past. Muslim women hold in their own hand the REAL ability to set themselves free … that is to leave Islam … because Islam will never reform … NEVER!

Islam may be causing a lot of this chaos… but it’s the fundamentalists mostly. you will find some muslim families whose daughters do as they please. I think the solution is the country’s rules and laws more than anything else. They have to separate the country’s law from the religion’s rules. because religion has to be something personal and private. I believe only that will set women free.
