A Texas legend and Beaumont, TX native passed today. Jack has been a fan of JW all his life. He had the pleasure to see him live in small venues in Beaumont, Houston many times and JW never disappointed. JW was one of the best. He ranks right up there with the worlds best Blues/Rock entertainers.

Once Jack was at a home in Port Neches, TX by the park and in walked JW. He was there for the same reason Jack was there. JW noticed a guitar in the corner and picked it up and started playing. He wasn’t famous then but he still could belt out a blues tune like no other. Jack will never forget that day.

Another time Jack and friends were at a small bar in Beaumont call “Our House.” It was an old small two story home turned into a bar. Owners lived upstairs and gave local bands a place to play. Rocky Hill (brother of Dusty hill ZZ Top) Blues band played there occasionally and one night while they were there in walks JW with his arrow guitar and sit in with them till wee hours of the morning. By then he was famous but he simply wanted to play that night … and play he did!

The man lived fast and hard but made it longer than most with his lifestyle … RIP JW
