Toll road turns into highway robbery!

Jack took a trip last week to Clute to attend an art reception. It was a pleasant trip since Mrs Jack had won 1st place in her division. On the way home he took the new Beltway 8 toll road. He thought hey this is great. Not much traffic for a “Houston” road and it can’t cost much … no problem. Got on at 288 on ramp and drove till he exited toll road to get on I-10. He gladly gave the woman $2 and went on his way.

Yesterday Jack recieved an official notice from Harris County Toll Road Authority that he owes $36.65. $00.65 for a time he used the road in January that had NO place to pay the toll when he used it that day. $01.50 for two times he went through toll station that had no one to collect and had to use exact change. He didn’t have exact change and continued on till he exited toll road and paid the $02.00 he was told by attendant he owed plus $33.00 administrative fee. He has 10 days to pay from the invoice date (08/25/09) which he recieved (08/31/09) if not another $14.00 PER violation ( 3×14=$42 ) will be added. With the US postal service no doubt the money will not get there and be posted on time.

He called them and explained. Tuff … you owe the money.

So that simple toll road ride will most likely end up costing $80.65 TOTAL. Yep that’s highway robbery! Another case like ObamaCare of the government saying Ill care of YOU! Jack is taking a royal screwing and not even getting a X.

Government taking more of our money.

Jack’s advice … stay off of Beltway 8 in Houston … you can’t afford the fine print!

ps: Mrs Jack blames GW senior. Yea she said he lives in Houston and it’s his fault! LOL

Pay up Jack old boy. Send them an extra $20 to cover violations you may make in the future.
